We are committed to protecting the environment and people during the construction of the scheme. As with any scheme of this nature, there will be some temporary disruption during construction. This includes land-take and associated temporary loss of trees and vegetation, access disturbance, changes to the rivers and streams in the scheme area, service diversions, changes to car and coach parking, and local impacts on views and the landscape.
There will also be some traffic disruption and localised increases in noise from:
New access routes to construction sites
Construction related traffic
Vehicle movements and earthworks.
Measures to minimise any nuisance and reduce anxiety for nearby residents, recreational users and businesses have been identified. They will be managed in accordance with a Construction and Environmental Management Plan (submitted with the planning application). We will keep the local community fully informed of the nature and timing of the works. We will programme construction to minimise disruption to residents, recreational users, vehicle travellers and businesses in Salisbury, as well as wildlife (including fish).
Once the scheme is built, the affected areas of land will be reinstated and replanting of native tree and vegetation will be carried out.
